What Is New on the 2027 Bolt

Charging the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt

An LFP Battery With Up to 262 Miles of Range

The heart of the new Bolt is a 65 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. LFP trades a little energy density for durability, and it is well suited to charging to 100% regularly without the extra wear some other battery chemistries see. The result is an EPA-estimated 262 miles on a full charge, a modest improvement over earlier Bolts.

A Native NACS Charge Port and 150 kW Fast Charging

The 2027 Bolt is Chevrolet’s first EV with a standard NACS (SAE J3400) charge port, so it can plug into compatible Tesla Superchargers without an adapter. DC fast charging supports up to 150 kW, which can take the battery from about 10% to 80% in roughly 25 to 26 minutes under ideal conditions. At home, the standard 11.5 kW onboard charger handles Level 2 charging for overnight top-ups. Learn more about charging your EV.

Google Built-In and a Modern Cabin

The Bolt features an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in for maps, voice assistance, and apps. Like Chevrolet’s other EVs, it does not offer Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, so if you rely on either, ask us for a demo before you decide. Standard safety technology includes adaptive cruise control and blind spot intervention, and Super Cruise hands-free highway driving is available on the RS with the Technology Package.

What Stays the Same

The Bolt is still a compact, front-wheel-drive electric hatchback built for everyday driving. A single front-mounted motor makes 210 horsepower and 169 lb.-ft. of torque, with quick, quiet acceleration and one-pedal driving. It seats five and offers about 16 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. There is no gas engine, no oil changes, and no all-wheel-drive option. And it is still the most affordable way to drive a Chevrolet EV.

2027 Bolt Trims: LT vs. RS

2027 Chevrolet Bolt LT

Bolt LT

The value-focused starting point at $28,995 including destination. It shares the RS’s motor, battery, range, and core technology, with cloth seating and a manual driver seat. Choose the LT if you want the most electric hatchback for the money.

2027 Chevrolet Bolt RS

Bolt RS

The sportier trim, starting at $32,995 including destination. It adds a gloss black grille, gloss black roof rails, and 17-inch gloss black wheels, plus available upgrades such as the Technology Package, Super Cruise, and a sunroof. Choose the RS if you want a sharper look and more available equipment.

Both trims use the same powertrain and have the same range. Features and packages vary by trim, and we can walk you through a full comparison on any Bolt in our inventory. Super Cruise and other driver-assistance features are not a substitute for safe, attentive driving.

Is the 2027 Bolt Right for You?

The Bolt fits commuters, small families, and anyone adding a second vehicle who wants an EV without a premium price. If you have a place to charge at home, 262 miles of range covers most weeks of driving. Keep in mind that the RS with options approaches $39,000, that there is no all-wheel-drive version, and that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not offered. Reports also indicate the new Bolt is a limited run, so if you are interested, it is worth acting sooner rather than later.
